Inside Tennis: October Multi-Activity Camps at Barrere Academy

What a great training week!! This fall, Barrere Academy hosted another edition of its multi-activity camps in Provence. An intense and joyful week where more than 20 participants – both juniors and adults – came together to experience a unique mix of tennis, climbing, cinema and conviviality. A format designed to help players improve their game while discovering new ways to move, think and connect.

A concept built on balance and enjoyment

At Barrere Academy, we believe performance grows from diversity. Our October camps were designed to help every player develop their tennis skills while discovering complementary disciplines. Tennis remains at the core of the program, but it is enhanced by climbing sessions for body control and coordination, and cinema evenings to foster mental focus, cultural insight, and motivation.

Tennis: precision, rhythm and match confidence

Each morning, players hit the courts for high-intensity sessions focused on stroke accuracy, rhythm management and point construction. The training alternated between serve, return, footwork and tactical drills. Afternoon coached matches helped everyone apply their learnings in real game situations. The result: visible progress in consistency, decision-making and confidence.

Climbing: coordination, stability and focus

Midweek, it was time for climbing — a perfect complement to tennis. This discipline builds core strength, balance and mental control. Guided by professional instructors, players learned to read a route, control their breathing and manage stress — essential skills for any athlete. These moments of challenge and mutual support strengthened the team spirit throughout the camp.

Cinema: inspiration and tennis culture

Each evening ended on a lighter note with our cinema sessions — featuring highlights from iconic tennis matches, sports documentaries, and inspiring films about competition and mindset. These moments encouraged open discussions about motivation, emotional control and personal growth through sport. It was a fun and reflective way to wrap up each day.

Conviviality at the heart of the experience

Beyond the technical training, it was the friendly atmosphere that truly defined this October camp. Between fun challenges, shared meals, laughter and encouragement, the group bond grew stronger every day. At Barrere Academy, we take training seriously — but we never forget to enjoy the journey together.

A well-balanced daily rhythm

Each day followed a dynamic and structured schedule:
Morning: tennis practice with specific technical goals;
Early afternoon: coached matches and tactical feedback;
Late afternoon: climbing or active recovery;
Evening: cinema sessions and group discussions.
This balance of activities helps maintain motivation, supports recovery and sustains focus throughout the week.

Key figures of the week

23 players, 5 full days, 10 tennis sessions, 3 climbing workshops, 3 cinema evenings — and countless smiles. On average, each participant hit over 1,000 balls during the week and left with new skills, confidence, and memories.

Word from the coaching team

“This multi-activity format is a real success. It allows players to disconnect without losing focus and to discover new ways to train both body and mind. It’s more than a camp — it’s a shared experience of growth and passion,” said the Barrere Academy staff.
